Regardless of what we say, deep down we all desire unity and peace. And while it’s easy to identify an enemy and point our finger at a problem, at some point we must question our logic and realize that allowing ourselves to see or label an enemy at all–let alone within our own communities–creates a divisive movement, counter to the very thing we seek.
That is not to say that there is nothing to do. We must realize that for something outside to bother us on the inside, it must have always been on the inside too. The same human pain and struggle that lives within what we see as the enemy also lives within us. And recognizing this, we must finally turn towards it, not just in thought but in deed.
A united community, country, or world will come no other way.
